SECTION I. SHORT TITLE

This Act may be cited as the “Revised Settlements Act.”

SECTION II. FINDINGS

Findings.–The Senate finds the following:

(a) Article VIII of the Constitution allows for the creation of cities, towns, villages, and hamlets; and

(b) Allowing citizens to create their own settlements might increase user participation.

SECTION III. DEFINITIONS

Definitions.-For the purposes of this Act:

(a) “City”-shall refer to Rosemont, as well as any settlement with a user population of at least 10;

(b) “Town”-shall refer to any settlement with a user population of at least 6 and no more than 9;

(c) “Village”-shall refer to any settlement with a user population of at least 3 and no more than 5; and

(d) “Hamlet”-shall refer to any settlement with a user population of at least 1 and no more than 2.

SECTION IV. SETTLEMENT REGISTRATION

(a) There shall be created a channel in the Executive Offices category titled “hamlet-registration”;

(b) All citizens shall possess the right to establish a settlement by filling out a form which shall be created by the Governor;

(c) The names of settlements registered in accordance with the previous Subsection may not be inappropriate and may not violate the Discord Terms of Service nor Community Guidelines;

(d) Settlements shall be classified in accordance with the definitions provided in Section 3;

(e) The residents of any settlement created via this Act may petition the Governor for promotion of their settlement upon population gain meeting the requirements under Section 3 via the “hamlet-registration” channel;

(f) The Governor shall maintain a database of settlements established via this Section including name, status, and population; and

(g) Residents of Arcadia may request to join any settlement by filling out a form which shall be created by the Governor.
