This Act may be cited as the “Federal Senate Correction Act”.
Section 4(1) is hereby stricken in its entirety, and amended to read:
“The Governor shall nominate a candidate for the office of Federal Senator from amongst citizens of the Commonwealth of Arcadia.”
Section 4(2) is hereby stricken in its entirety, and amended to read:
“The candidate for the office of Federal Senator shall go through a hearing by the Senate.”
Section 4(3) is hereby stricken in its entirety, and amended to read:
“The hearing period shall follow the Standing Rules of the Senate.”
Section 4(4) is hereby stricken in its entirety, and amended to read:
“By the end of the hearing period, the candidate shall be voted upon by the Senate by way of a simple majority vote.”
Section 4(5) is hereby stricken in its entirety, and all subsequent subsections renumbered accordingly.
Section 4(6) is inserted and shall read:
“Whereas the Governor nominates the incumbent Senator to serve again, the Senator shall serve for the duration of the new hearing voting procedure. The Senate shall vote immediately on the candidate, unless the Senate moves for a hearing.”
This Act and the amendments made herein shall take effect upon enactment.
